Dr Kurosh Parsi

Dr Kurosh Parsi (Sydney Phlebologist / Vein Specialist), FACD, FACP is a dermatologist, phlebologist and vascular anomalies (birthmarks) specialist. He is a medical graduate of the University of Sydney and obtained his Master of Science in Medicine degree from the University of New South Wales (UNSW).
Dr Kurosh Parsi (Sydney Phlebologist / Vein Specialist)’s basic science research has focused on the basic properties of detergent sclerosants and in particular their interaction with coagulation, antithrombotic and fibrinolytic mechanisms. This work is done in affiliation with the Department of Haematology, St. Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney. His clinical research in phlebology has focused on deep vein sclerosis and ‘sclerothrombus’ as well as traveller’s thrombosis. His research in dermatology has been on pigmented purpuric dermatoses (PPD), vascular malformations and reticulate eruptions.
Dr Kurosh Parsi (Sydney Phlebologist / Vein Specialist) specialises in endovenous laser ablation (EVLA), catheter directed sclerotherapy (CDS), ultrasound guided foam sclerotherapy (UGS), management of vascular malformations, diagnosis and management of vascular skin problems such as leg ulceration, reticulate eruptions and PPD.
Dr Kurosh Parsi (Sydney Phlebologist / Vein Specialist) is the founding editor of the Australian and New Zealand Journal of Phlebology. Positions held include President, Australasian College of Phlebology (current); Specialist Dermatologist, St Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney; Staff Specialist in Dermatology and Vascular Anomalies, Sydney Children’s Hospital; Conjoint Senior Lecturer, UNSW. Dr Kurosh Parsi (Sydney Phlebologist / Vein Specialist) is the current Associate Editor of the Australasian Journal of Dermatology and serves on the Editorial Board of Phlebology: The Journal of Venous Disease.
Dr Kurosh Parsi (Sydney Phlebologist / Vein Specialist) is a fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatology and Australasian College of Phlebology. He is a member of the International Society for Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH), Australian Society for Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ASTH), International Society for the Study of Vascular Anomalies (ISSVA), Australian Society for Ultrasound in Medicine (ASUM), American College of Phlebology, Gesellschaft für Thrombose- und Hämostaseforschung (GTH) and a Corresponding International Member of the French Society of Phlebology.
