Sonographers

Sonographers are highly-skilled professionals trained in operating ultrasound systems and interpreting ultrasound images. Our sonographers are accredited and undergo continuous medical education. Sonography is a post-graduate degree and sonographers come from different undergraduate backgrounds such as radiography, nursing and even medicine.

At Sydney Skin and Vein Clinic, all ultrasound examinations are performed by vascular sonographers. The Phlebology Vascular Lab provides a range of specialised ultrasound scans. The type of scan required is determined by the doctor. This will be done to generate the necessary information for the doctors to make a diagnosis of your condition. Specific questions regarding your condition should be reserved for your consultation with our doctors.

Our sonographers also assist the doctors in performing the procedures. This is because most of our procedures are done under ultrasound guidance. They will also assist you in choosing the right compression stockings that will be used after the procedures.

You will meet the sonographers again during the follow-up period as they will scan your legs about 6-10 weeks and again one year after the completion of your treatments.

	Yana has a Graduate Diploma in Medical Sonography with The University of Sydney. She is a member of the Australasian College of Phlebology, the Australian Sonography Association and the Australian Sonography Association Registry.
	Vicki Ashfield-Smith Ba.App.Sc.(MRS)(Diag.Rad)(USYD)Grad.Dip.Hlth.Sc.(Med Sono) (USYD)
	Vicki has a Bachelor of Applied Science in medical radiation science (radiography) and a Graduate Diploma in general sonography with Sydney University. She is a member of the Australian Sonographer's Association , Australian Sonography Association Registry and the Australian Institute of Radiography.
	Osvaldo Cooley BMed(IPN National College of Medicine Mexico),GPMU(ASMI)
	Osvaldo has a Bachelor of Medicine from National College of Medicine Mexico. He is currently enrolled in ASUM completing a Diploma in Medical Ultrasound. He has completed a Graduate Program in Medical Ultrasound from ASMI and currently a member of The Australasian College of Phlebology, Australian Sonography Association and the Australian Sonography Association Registry.
	Mirri Braude BSc (MIS) (Curtin University of Technology WA)
	Mirri has a Bachelor of Science in Medical Imaging Science and is currently completing a Graduate Diploma in Health Science (Medical Sonography) at The University of Sydney. She is a member of the Australasian College of Phlebology, Australian Sonography Association, Australian Institute of Radiography and Australian Sonography Association Registry.
	Miroshlava Ramirez BMed(IPN National College of Medicine Mexico)
	Miroshlava has a Bachelor of Medicine from National College of Medicine Mexico. She has completed a Graduate Program in Medical Ultrasound from ASMI. She is currently enrolled at Monash University completing Medical Ultrasound and is currently a member of The Australasian College of Phlebology, Australian Sonography Association and the Australian Sonography Association Registry.
	Roslynn Sacco BMedSc(USYD), MPH(USYD)
	Roslynn has a Bachelor of Medical Science and a Master of Public Health, graduating with merit, from The University of Sydney. She is currently completing a Graduate Diploma of Health Science (Medical Sonography) at the University of Sydney. Roslynn is a member of the Australasian College of Phlebology as well as the Australian Sonography Association Registration and the Australian Sonography Association.
	Marzieh Shirmohammady BSc (UTS)
	Maryam has a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science from UTS. She is currently completing a Graduate Diploma of Health Science (Medical Sonography) at Sydney University. Maryam is a member of AIMS, Australian Sonography Association Registry, the Australasian College of Phlebology and the Australian Sonograohy Association.
